This last weekend was our first Thanksgiving as a family and we had a lot of fun. We started off the festivities by walking in the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. Here's David and Riley before the big race.
We arrived at the Sparks Marina in layers of clothing, with Riley wrapped up the best. He was in pajamas with socks on underneath, a sweater one-piece over that (Thanks Kelly!), a winter jacket over that, shoes, mittens, a winter hat, a blanket underneath him and a blanket over him. We also kept both covers on the stroller closed. Here he is after the race-minus the shoes and gloves, just waking up after sleeping through the whole walk!
We went home after the race and quickly loaded up the car and my parents and drove to Sacramento for Thanksgiving with my mom's family. This was an extra special occasion as it was also the first time my family had seen Riley. Riley slept in the car the whole way there, slept not a wink while in Sac and then slept the whole drive home that night. He was very good! I think he liked my aunt Janice the best because he smiled whenever she came into view, but hey-who doesn't! On Friday we made our own personal Thanksgiving dinner. Dave and I had never made a turkey before and it turned out great! On Saturday, we spent the day with Dave's family where we relaxed and ate wonderful food. It was a great weekend. Check out our family photo album for a few new pictures of Riley with the family.
